Class of 2024 Canadian Prospect Hudson Ward Commits to Penn State

By Thomas English

Penn State men’s basketball has landed a commitment from class of 2024 forward Hudson Ward. He announced his commitment Wednesday afternoon.

Ward becomes the fourth member of the 2024 recruiting class as he joins Miles Goodman, Dominick Stewart and Jahvin Carter who have already been signed.

He is a three-star small forward prospect per On3 and is ranked as one of the top Canadian prospects in the class of 2024.

Ward chose Penn State quickly after taking an official visit to Penn State this past weekend. He chose the Nittany Lions over multiple schools including San Diego, Rice, New Mexico and Florida Gulf Coast.

The 6-foot-7 forward from Edmonton, Alberta played for the U17 Canadian basketball team in the 2022 FIBA World Cup.

During the FIBA World Cup, he averaged 5.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and shot 40% from three-point range while averaging 17.4 minutes per game.

He has tremendous ability to finish through contact and is a solid defender with his frame and lateral quickness.

Head coach Mike Rhoades continues to build his program with top talent and now inks his fourth recruit in his first full recruiting class.

Penn State sits at 9-11 on the season and 3-6 in conference play in the first year under Rhoades. They travel to Piscataway tonight to face Rutgers at 8:30 p.m.

The Nittany Lions will look to get another win to their name while continuing to prepare for the future of Penn State basketball.
