Brothers Bar & Grill Opening
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Brothers Bar & Grill officially opened their doors today, welcoming customers at 11 o’clock. The bar is located on South Allen Street at the former Amazon Pickup Store location. Brothers, started by Marc and Andrew Fortney, have a chain of locations. Their first, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, was opened in 1990.
The bar has tons of seating, and TVs all around. They had hoped it would be open for football season, but are glad to get things up and going now.
Ryan Arndt, the regional manager, thinks State College is a great location for their spot.
“One of the things we like to say is ‘we’re a restaurant by day, and a bar all day,’ and then once about 8 or 9 o’clock hits we’ll dim the lights down, turn the music up, we got a whole dance floor in back.”
Now that they’re finally opened, Ardnt is excited to serve the community, expecting a mix of the town people and students.
Students have been eager to see the new spot, as the signs have been outside for quite some time. Matthew Kombert, a first-year PhD student has a particular reason in mind.
“New place to go downtown. Everything always has long lines, so maybe it’ll shorten all the lines. Looks cool, it catches the eye when you’re walking downtown…looking forward to trying it out.”
Brothers will be open until 2 am. For more information visit their website.
