As the grass settles on the Big Ten men's soccer tournament, it's time to reflect on this thrilling journey. With the semi-finals setting the stage for an intense showdown, the tournament delivered suspense, drama and moments of brilliance that defined the path to glory.

No. 5 Seed Michigan at No. 1 Seed Indiana

In a semifinal clash that showcased the essence of collegiate soccer, Indiana faced off against Michigan, ultimately triumphing 5-4 to secure a spot in the finals.

The first half saw the Hoosiers take a commanding 3-1 lead, with goals from Maouloune Goumballe, Hugo Bacharach and Tommy Mihalic.

Michigan mounted a comeback, leveling the score at 4-4, but a second yellow card to Jason Bucknor left Michigan with 10 men. Goumballe capitalized on the advantage, sealing the win with a late goal in the 83rd minute.

The match's narrative unfolded through a series of compelling moments, from Goumballe's 21st-minute solo effort to Bucknor's dismissal in the 75th minute.

In a dramatic encounter between Ohio State and Penn State, the match ended 1-1 after regulation, pushing the teams into a double-overtime showdown.

The Nittany Lions emerged victorious in a penalty shootout, with Kris Shakes' crucial save securing a 4-3 win. Samson Kpardeh's game-tying goal and the subsequent shootout heroics propelled Penn State to the championship, setting the stage for a tantalizing final against Indiana.

No. 2 Seed Penn State at No. 1 Seed Indiana

The championship clash at Bill Armstrong Stadium lived up to the hype, with Indiana and Penn State battling fiercely for the title.

The first half saw Indiana dominate possession, testing the Nittany Lions' defense with nine shots. Kris Shakes showcased his goalkeeping skill, making two crucial saves. However, Samuel Sarver's 38th-minute goal gave Indiana a 1-0 lead.
