Best TV Couple
Nick and Jess - "New Girl"
Nick Miller (Jake Johnson) and Jess Day (Zooey Deschanel) are the ideal sitcom relationship as the story goes from the classic best friends to lovers trope.
The pair's first kiss is one of the main reasons that solidifies them into this list as it is one of the best first kisses in modern television history.
In the middle of a game of True American (a classic New Girl reference), the two are locked into a room and instructed to kiss.
Nick is so adamant that they will not have their first kiss in the middle of a game that he even goes as far as jumping out of a window to avoid it.
But later that night when they are alone, Nick grabs Jess and passionately shares their first kiss together.
The two go on a rollercoaster of a journey after that, with seasons of them together and others where they are broken up. But throughout the whole show, the main idea is that Nick and Jess are always there for each other even when they are not dating.
They are weird and complicated together but they are always looking out for the other one and are real soulmates. -Madison Rush
Donna and Eric - “That 70’s Show”
“That 70’s Show” is an iconic sitcom that withstands the passing of time, even if some of its actors do not.
Eric Forman, played by Topher Grace, and Donna Pinciotti, played by Laura Prepon, are one of the most incredible TV couples to date.
While the couple did not follow the path of costars Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis and get married in real life, they set a standard for quality on-screen relationships.
The couple got together early in season one of the eight-season show. They share their first kiss in the pilot and then begin dating a few episodes later.
Throughout the entire series, they are mostly on but off on occasion. To end season seven and to fulfill Grace’s desire to leave the show, Eric’s character was ultimately written out of the main plot. However, at the end of season eight, he returns and the couple reunites for good.
Their storyline continues into the 2023 spin-off “That 90’s Show” where their daughter Leia is the main character.

Ian and Mickey - “Shameless”
The American comedy drama TV series, “Shameless” (2011), surrounds the dysfunctional life of the Gallagher family living in the South Side of Chicago.
Ian Gallagher (Cameron Monaghan) is the redhead, middle child who in the first season spends most of his time around Mandy Milkovich (Jane Levy). During their time together, Ian is wrongly accused of assaulting Mandy.
Soon after the accusation, Mickey Milkovich (Noel Fisher), Mandy’s older brother, plans to visit Ian and beat him up. To avoid getting beaten up, Ian tells Mandy he’s gay and Mandy makes sure to clear things up with Mickey.
Later on, Mickey shows up to Ian's work and is caught shoplifting. Ian and Mickey start fighting but eventually make up in…the freezer. Long story short, they become a fling.
Their relationship is kept under tight wraps as Mickey hides his identity from his extremely homophobic and violent father. Mickey continues to see girls because of this which upsets Ian.
For a moment it seems the relationship has fallen apart until Mickey comes out to prove to Ian he is done hiding his love for Ian. All should seem set in place, but this is only the beginning of their rollercoaster of a relationship.
Through eventual breakups, psychotic bipolar episodes, jailbreaks and more breakups the two seem to never catch a break in their relationship. At one point Ian and Mickey become cell mates and rekindle their love.
Yet, like every “Shameless” love story, there’s more chaos to endure.
Just like all Galagher relationships, this one is crazy, emotional, dramatic and so dysfunctionally perfect. Ian and Mickey show that true love never dies, despite the insane obstacles one may face.
These two are endgame, there’s no denying it. Their unhinged personalities clash and intertwine to make the perfect South Side pair.
They easily take the crown for best TV couple as they prove nothing can get in the way of true love. -Lailah Acuña
