The Jennifer Lawrence Trip

With the Oscars coming up, it’s time to reflect on moments that humanized the show and brought celebrities to the same level as the viewers.

One of these moments would be in 2013 when a 22-year-old Jennifer Lawrence won “Best Actress” for “Silver Linings Playbook.”

Through recent research about Lawrence, she has openly spoken about the events that transpired after her name was announced as the winner.

She talks about how the reason she tripped was because her beautiful strapless white gown was a little too long. The whole night she was informed to kick out her feet when she walked (to keep the dress in front of her), however on her way up the stairs she completely forgot to do that.

Lawrence obviously can now laugh about the moment, but she also reflects on how her embarrassing fall absolutely threw her off the rest of the evening. She says during her acceptance speech she completely forgets to thank David O. Russell, the director of “Silver Linings Playbook.”

The following year at the ABC-Pre Oscar show Lawrence was seen tripping over a cone on the red carpet. Lawrence has said multiple times that she is extremely clumsy, and Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson can affirm this as they saw her trip all over all four of “The Hunger Games” press tours.

Lawrence has said in various interviews that although her tripping is funny, it brought the attention away from her biggest achievement and “Silver Linings Playbook’s” amazing award.

This Oscar moment humanized Lawrence and many celebrities to a normal level, however, it should be remembered that Lawrence tripped on her way to winning an Oscar! She is talented beyond belief, and her falling should never take away from the achievement of the 22-year-old woman.
