Pickens points for a first down

Best George Pickens crash outs

By Owen Daszko

Over his college and NFL career, Pittsburgh Steelers star wide receiver George Pickens has been a part of several moments that make fans question what goes through his mind during games.

These moments have also granted him the D1 crash out label, so let's rank some of the top crash out moments of his career so far.

1: And his name is George Pickens!

Welcome to the WWE because this play is worthy of consideration. He didn’t even attempt to get back into the play after the interception. He just straight-up tackled him without hesitation. The defender tried to take Pickens out of the play with a block, but he wasn’t ready for what was about to happen to him. Pickens was quoted after the game saying, “After the interception, guy tried to be physical with me. A lot of guys like to do that, so I got physical back.”

2: Georgia swinging on a Georgia Tech defender

Georgia George Pickens was another problem. He just picked fights. He didn’t care about anything else but causing chaos in every play. The Georgia Tech player wanted no business, but it didn’t matter, Pickens was on a mission. He never cared about how his behavior impacted the team and that’s what made him so fun to watch. Fans, his teammates, and even his coaches never knew what he would do next.

3: Pickens squirting water bottle at grounded Tennessee quarterback

Squirting water at someone while they are on the ground and standing over him is flat-out crazy behavior. Who would think to do this in the midst of a game? The answer is George Pickens. Pickens is the ultimate proof of someone who lets their inner thoughts win no matter the circumstance.

4: Pickens vs Jourdan Lewis

When the opposing team wants to celebrate a game-clinching play, George Pickens doesn’t let that slide. Losing to the Cowboys in 2024 is definitely not a good look and when your quarterback doesn’t pass the ball to you, it probably pisses you off. Pickens had his worst game of the season against Dallas where he caught three passes for 26 yards, so maybe this crash out was understandable.

5: Pickens vs Joey Porter Jr. in practice

It doesn't matter if it’s his teammate, he doesn't care. No opposing player or teammate is safe in the mind of George Pickens. He had a point to prove on this rep in practice and he proved it with an insane one-hand snag over Porter Jr.’s head. Handing the ball to Porter after the catch makes it even more disrespectful.

6: Pickens blocking Michigan defender off his feet

A flat-out “I own you” type of play. He stands on business every time. Pickens had one catch for nine yards in the CFP Semifinal game vs Michigan, but it doesn’t matter because Pickens only cares about embarrassing his opponent. He will embarrass his opponent in any way possible. He hushed the Michigan sideline after too. That’s legendary menace behavior if I’ve ever seen it.

There are many more instances where Pickens decides to crash out on opposing players and it won’t be a surprised if there are more of these types of moments to come for Pickens.
