In another high-stakes game, the No. 5 Tennessee Volunteers secured a decisive victory over the No. 10 Kentucky Wildcats with a final score of 103-92. Josiah-Jordan James and Zakai Zeigler led the charge for the Volunteers, each scoring 26 points.
Zeigler's stellar performance included making all five of his field goal attempts in the first half, setting the tone for Tennessee's dominance throughout the game.
Despite a career-high 35 points from Rob Dillingham for Kentucky, the Wildcats couldn't overcome the offensive firepower of the Volunteers. The game also saw a brief halt in play as tensions rose between players, highlighting the competitive nature of SEC basketball.
Mississippi State vs Alabama
The Mississippi State Bulldogs faced a tough road challenge against the Alabama Crimson Tide, ultimately falling short with a final score of 99-76.
Despite showing early promise with a 14-12 lead in the first half, the Bulldogs struggled to maintain momentum as Alabama took control of the game. Turnovers proved to be a significant issue for Mississippi State, with 18 compared to Alabama's 11.
Additionally, the Bulldogs struggled on the boards, allowing 20 offensive rebounds to the Crimson Tide. The loss highlighted Mississippi State's difficulties on the road this season, as they continue to search for consistency away from home.
