The college basketball season is heating up and the huge upsets are starting to occur more often, especially in the past couple weeks of Big Ten play.

Let's take a quick look at some of the top stories and teams in the Big Ten conference from this past week.

Purdue Boilermakers

The Purdue Boilermakers have been the most dominant team in the Big Ten so far this season and picked up another dominant win over the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday on the road 84-70.

They were led by their star center Zach Edey who had 30 points, 18 rebounds, and four blocks in the game. Their next matchup will be at home next Tuesday versus the Michigan Wolverines.

Penn State Nittany Lions

On Tuesday night the Penn State Nittany Lions shocked the country and defeated the No. 11 Wisconsin Badgers at the Bryce Jordan Center 87-82.

The Nittany Lions were led by their star guard Kanye Cleary who put up 27 points, four rebounds, and three assists. The Nittany Lion's next opponent will be against a solid Minnesota Gopher team.

Illinois Fighting Illini

The Illini are currently ranked the No. 14 team in the country and are the second-highest-ranked team in the Big Ten. They picked up a dominant 88-73 win over the Michigan Wolverines on the road.

Coleman Hawkins led the way for the Illini as he scored a calm 21 points and dominated off the glass with 10 rebounds. The Illini look to continue their Big Ten dominance against Northwestern on Wednesday on the road.

Nebraska Cornhuskers

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have struggled recently in Big Ten play and are looking to get back to where they were to start the season. However, they did pick up a solid home win versus a talented Northwestern team on Saturday 75-69.

Senior forward Josiah Allick was great for the Cornhuskers in this matchup and shot 4-5 from the field and 7-8 at the free throw line with 15 points on the day. The Cornhusker's next matchup will be against the Ohio State Buckeyes on home court.

Wisconsin Badgers

The Badgers have been very impressive so far this season and are currently ranked No.11 in the country. After getting upset on the road in Happy Valley the Badgers responded well with a dominant 91-79 win at home versus the Indiana Hoosiers.

They were led in this matchup by Junior guard Max Klesmit who had 26 points and shot 8-11 from the field. The Cornhusker's next opponent will be a good matchup on the road in Minnesota.

Ohio State Buckeyes

After losing to the Penn State Nittany Lions at the beginning of the season the Buckeyes got their revenge and beat them 79-67 over the weekend at home in Columbus. They got a contribution from just about everyone in their lineup and had a really balanced plan of attack this time around versus the Nittany Lions.

Four players for the Buckeyes had over 10 points and Felix Okpara was incredible, picking up 14 rebounds for the Buckeyes. Their next game will be a big one on the road at Nebraska.
