
Around the Big 12 Basketball: Week of Nov. 19
The Big 12 Basketball was another conference that saw success in the NCAA Tournament last season and they are off to a hot start again this season.
They currently have five teams ranked in the top 25 and three teams ranked in the top 10 in the NCAA rankings. There are only two teams that aren't undefeated in the Big 12, the Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Kansas State Wildcats.
Kansas Jayhawks
The Kansas Jayhawks have been off to a very impressive 4-0 start to their season and are currently ranked as the No. 1 team in the country. The Jayhawks are coming off a nail-biting 89-84 victory against the No. 17 Kentucky Wildcats on Tuesday night in the Champions Classic.
They were led by their star transfer from Michigan Hunter Dickinson who became the first player in 25 years to have at least 20 points and 20 rebounds vs. Kentucky. Dickinson was also the first player in history to have a 20-20 game in the Champions Classic.
Arizona Wildcats
The Arizona Wildcats have been off to a shockingly very strong start to the season and knocked off the No. 2 Duke Blue Devils last week on the road. The Wildcats have jumped up to the No.3 team in the country now and have improved to 4-0 after dominating Belmont at home 100-68.
They have been led by UNC transfer guard Caleb Love so far this season and he looked impressive against Belmont. He finished the night with 20 points, six assists and three boards. The Wildcats have another important matchup next week versus the No. 18 Michigan State Spartans.
Houston Cougars
This Cougars team has been fun to watch again so far this season and is off to an impressive 5-0 start. They are now ranked No.6 in the country and look to build their confidence as the season goes on as they will start to play some tougher opponents headed forward in the Big 12 conference.
The Cougar's next game will be against a 3-1 Dayton Flyer squad on Sunday night on their home court.
Baylor Bears
The Baylor Bears have been another team in the Big 12 this season that has been off to a great start. The Bears are currently ranked No. 15 in the country and have started the season with a 4-0 start.
They have been led by their star guard Ja'Kobe Walter who has averaged 18 points and four rebounds per game. The Bears have been dominant in their first four games of the season at home and will now head on the road for the first time to matchup against the 3-1 Oregon State Beavers.
Texas Longhorns
The Texas Longhorns are off to a solid start by winning their first three games of the season at home and are currently ranked at No.19 in the country. The Longhorns are a team that is quick in transition and has had great guard play so far this season.
Their top scorer so far this season has been their senior guard Ithiel Horton who has averaged 14.7 points per game and 2.7 rebounds. Their first road game of the year will be on Sunday versus a very competitive Louisville team.
