Alex Stein returns to Penn State for Uncensored America
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Far-right comedian and YouTube personality Alex Stein returned to Penn State on Monday for a comedy show at the Bryce Jordan Center.
Stein, who is known for his controversial political commentary, is a self-described “professional troll” who began his online career in 2011.
The event on Monday was held by the Penn State chapter of Uncensored America and utilized the help of many student volunteers and police officers.
In October of 2022, Stein was slated to come to Penn State for a comedy show with the founder of the Proud Boys, Gavin McInnes. This event was canceled by the university before the show started amid protests from students that escalated into violence.
Stein said he was happy that Penn State let him come back after what happened last year.
“I lost my job here too when you guys canceled my speech but guess what? Like a phoenix out of the ashes we shall rise,” he said about being back in State College.
Stein wasn’t alone at this event. He first brought out a man he refers to as his “wife’s boyfriend,” Dontarius. The two often do events like this together as well as film videos.
The main guest, however, was McInnes himself, whose appearance had been a surprise. Both Stein and McInnes said that it had to be a surprise or the event would have been canceled.
McInnes was critical of Penn State President Neeli Bendapudi and the university’s decision to cancel the event last year and expressed some frustration about how they could not advertise that he was going to be present.
“Well we had to sneak me in,” McInnes said.
Near the end, Stein said that his main point that he wanted to get across was that too many people play the victim in their lives.
“This is the one message I want to give: Don’t be a victim,” he said.
At the end of the event, Stein and McInnes held a Q and A session that opened up the floor to questions from the audience.
