
After The Whistle District 6 & Penn State Sports Weekly Recap: March 26, 2025
After the Whistle covered various high school and Penn State sports this week.
Girl's Basketball
Bishop Guilfolye and Bishop Carroll met in the semifinal round of the 1A State Championships. The Lady Marauders came out on top 49-42 and will face Linville Hill for the State Title.
District 6 has another state contender: Bishop McCort. In the semifinals, Bishop McCort played Central Cambria. Then, Bishop McCort advanced to play Berlin Brothersvalley in the 2A Championship.
Baseball
Looking for another chance at the State Championship, Hollidaysburg faced off against Bald Eagle. Led by EJ Ulery and pitching by Vince Boland, Hollidaysburg came out on top 10-4 against the Golden Eagles.

The State College Little Lions welcomed Mifflin County to try to stay undefeated. State College cruised to an easy 20-2 victory and are now 3-0. Mifflin County remains winless at 0-2-1.
Girl's Lacrosse
State College’s girls team also looked to stay undefeated this week as they welcomed Carlisle. They won 17-6 to move to 4-0, as Carlisle falls to 1-1.

The Nittany Lions and the Buckeyes play in a top-10 matchup in Happy Valley. Penn State’s defense would fail them as Ohio State would come out on top 13-9.
Penn State Baseball
Penn State welcomes fellow Big 10 opponent Michigan State for a three game series. Despite having a great game 2, Penn State would ultimately drop the series 2 games to 1.
Pitt traveled to Happy Valley for Penn State’s third Dollar Dog Night. Unfortunately, Penn State would not come up with a victory as they fall to Pitt 9-2.
