STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — The 75th annual Halloween parade unfolded in downtown State College on Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. amid a gentle drizzle that failed to dampen the spirits of the community. Enthusiasm and energy radiated through the rain-kissed streets despite the weather's attempt to temper the occasion.

The State High Marching Band marched on, echoing Halloween tunes that added a spark to onlooking spectators, undeterred by the light drizzle that colored Fraser St., College Ave, and Allen St.

Among the spectators was Mary Nargi, a proud parent of a band member, celebrating the vibrant performances of the band and noting the joy of seeing families come together during the parade.

"It was fun to see the families," Nargi said, encapsulating her enthusiastic experience.

Assistant drum majors Abby Putnam (senior) and Spencer Hardik (senior), both in their first-time lead roles in the parade, expressed their elation at being at the parade's forefront.

"Abby and I have never been at the front of the parade before, and we got to do that today, and that was super cool. Plus, we had super fun," Hardik shared, donning a coordinated Blues Clues costume.

Reflecting on the festive atmosphere and his last time leading the marching band, head drum major Joshua Carlson (senior) said, "Parades are always just super fun. It's fun to remember the costumes...it's a fun one to end the season with."

Following the band, a diverse array of creatively adorned individuals paraded their best costumes, ranging from whimsical figures like Slinky Dog to more spine-tingling characters like Saw.

Participants of all ages showcased their imaginative and often spooky ensembles, delighting the audience.

Upon completing the parade route, the community congregated at Memorial Field to bask in the band's final performance and engage in socializing, culminating in an evening that exuded a vibrant sense of community and celebration.
