Director Biography

Lucas Hydock began studying at Penn State University in August 2021. He is a department supervisor for CommAgency, a student-run media firm, and provides creative assistant work for a marketing team at the Eberly College of Science. He also interns at the Happy Valley Adventure Bureau. He will graduate in May 2025.

Lucas has written and directed several short films, and boasts a writing portfolio that includes two features and three pilots. He has also volunteered at the Centre Film Festival, directed a student talk show called Nittany Talk, and directed several hours of a THON fundraising livestream through an organization called 46LIVE.

During his junior year he interned at Mandalay Pictures & Charles Osowik Management in Los Angeles. Lucas plans to move back to LA in late 2025 to pursue a career in writing. His goal is to be a showrunner.

Director Statement

While learning to step out of my shell, I noticed that I spent a lot of time interacting with strangers like I was giving them an interview. Learning how to socialize with new people has always been something I struggled with, and I felt compelled to write a film about it while paying homage to my hero.
