Top 5 jerseys in college basketball

By Edison Pellumbi

5: Villanova Baby Blues

We start the list off with Villanova, which always does a great job with its uniforms.

These jerseys are a great mix of modern and classics.

If you put a retro filter over them, I would believe you if you said these were from the 1980’s.

Villanova, in general, has a great basketball aesthetic, but I think these specifically are up there with the best of the best.

4: Duke Navies

Duke knocked it out of the park with their navy jerseys.

They only wear the “Brotherhood” uniforms for big-time matchups, and they are well-deserving of it.

This jersey is a significant improvement over the old black alternates.

The gothic font over the chest looks amazing, and these also look great on the court with some rival other jerseys that I will get to later.

3: North Carolina Home Jerseys

The only regular rotation jersey on this list is the North Carolina home jersey.

This is probably the most iconic jersey in college basketball, and there’s a reason they’ve barely changed, even going back to the days of Michael Jordan.

The Carolina blue is probably the most iconic color in college basketball as well, and it pops so well off the white jersey.

There’s a reason the other four jerseys on here are all going to be alternates, and it is very rare to see a primary jersey that is this good.

One of my favorite uniform combos of all time was when Duke wore their navy jerseys, and UNC wore their home whites.

2. Virginia White Retros

Under Tony Bennett, Virginia never wore any alternate uniforms.

It was always just the usual navy on the road and white at home, with no different designs to spice things up.

After he left, they debuted some new uniforms, all of which are very good.

The white retros are my favorite of all of them.

The orange outline on the navy retro text pops so well on the white background, and I think these are just slightly better than the orange alternates.

1. Michigan State White Retros

The number one spot on this list goes to Michigan State’s home retros.

They are simple, yet they work so well.

They are plain white with a white stripe down the side, green block lettering and a script “State” on the front.

An underrated part of them that I really like is the lack of a name on the back, which I think adds to their beautiful simplicity.
