Reality Roundup: “Survivor” Episode 3

By Nikolai Wagner

survivor episode three

This episode featured one of the scariest moments ever seen on the show, with a contestant being medically evacuated after being bitten by a sea krait.

Jake, a member of the Kele tribe, was walking along the beach when he felt something bite his foot. He looked into the water and saw that it was a sea krait — a venomous snake.

Jake was immediately taken off the island by boat and sent to Survivor boot camp, where he was treated for the bite.

It was later discovered that the bite Jake received was nonvenomous. However, given the extent of his physical and mental suffering, the decision was made that it would be best for his health if he were pulled from the game.

With Jake out, the Kele tribe was down to three members: Jerimiah, Sophi and Alex.

Going into the immunity challenge, the Kele tribe was in desperate need of a win after suffering loss after loss to start the game.

Unfortunately, they were unable to pull off the win, losing immunity yet again. The tribe would be going from three to two members.

Sophi and Alex were both very close to Jake but not as close to each other. Still, Sophi promised Alex that she would vote with him, though Alex wasn’t sure she was telling the truth.

At tribal council, Alex played his idol to be safe in case Sophi was lying.

Playing the idol proved unnecessary, however, as Sophi stuck to her word and voted out Jerimiah.
