NFL Betting: Week 5
The following article contains information that is not representative of the opinions of CommRadio. It solely expresses the opinions of Ben Barker.
It’s week five of the NFL season as some teams are beginning the first round of bye weeks.
There’s still football, however, which means there’s still plenty of bets to be played.
Here’s what I think can help everyone’s wallets this week.
Giants +1.5 vs. Saints
Let’s just say it’s safe to bet against the Saints this year, as they’re looking like one of the worst teams in football through a winless four weeks.
The Giants picked up a big win vs. the Chargers thanks to a tough defense and the efficient play of Jaxson Dart, who was injured with a hamstring last week.
Big Blue also lost Malik Nabers for the season, which will certainly make this game a closer contest.
Despite the injury, I believe Brian Daboll’s going to want to win this one for the sake of his job.
Eagles moneyline vs. Broncos (-210)
The Eagles have had a lot of close calls this season, but still remain perfect through four weeks.
Denver, on the other hand, sits at 2-2, heading into a tough atmosphere this weekend.
The Broncos have struggled mightily while not on their home turf, going 7-24 in their last 31 road games, including postseason play.
Philadelphia will be looking for more success on the ground with Saquon Barkley, who has only eclipsed 60 rushing yards once this season.
Sean Payton’s crew has done well against the run this season, making me believe the moneyline is the best route.
Chargers -2.5 vs. Commanders
I know they lost to the 0-3 Giants last week, but I believe that was just a usual trap game.
Outside of that loss, the Chargers have played some really good football. They lead the AFC West with a 3-1 record.
Los Angeles has boasted one of the better defenses in football. They’re top five in scoring, passing and total defense through four weeks.
The only downside is the run defense, ranking 16th in the NFL.
Even without Jayden Daniels, the Commanders have had one of the best rushing attacks in the league. They’re second in the NFL in rushing yards per game, only behind the Buffalo Bills.
The Chargers will cover, but Dan Quinn’s squad won’t go down easily.
Texans vs. Ravens (Under 40.5)
Be prepared for an interesting battle. Houston’s terrible offense vs. Baltimore’s terrible defense.
The Texans did put up 26 points vs. the Titans, but they were up 6-0 entering the fourth quarter, and the points were scored thanks to short field opportunities provided by their defense.
Speaking of which, they’ve allowed the fifth least amount of yards through the opening stages of 2025.
This doesn’t bode well for Baltimore’s offense, as they’ll likely be sending out backup Cooper Rush for the injured Lamar Jackson.
Many key players are down on defense as well, including Kyle Hamilton, Roquon Smith and Kyle Van Noy. Hamilton and Vann Noy are questionable, while Smith is doubtful.
Both teams are stumbling badly into this week, and I can’t recommend taking the under enough.
