I miss Beau
Beau Pribula, the Pennsylvania kid, comes to Penn State being the number eight-ranked quarterback in the country. His freshman year was stopped due to COVID-19. So he was redshirted.
During his freshman and sophomore years, he was behind Drew Allar as the quarterback at Penn State. He saw a few snaps and was mainly brought into the game to run.
Through faith in Beau and the right timing, the 6'2” redshirt junior quarterback from York is now playing football at Missouri for $1.5 million.
The decision to leave Penn State was easy for Beau, but was Penn State ready to say goodbye just yet?
When Drew Allar announced towards the end of last season that he was staying to finish out his senior season, Beau had a choice. Be Penn State’s backup quarterback for another year, or go somewhere else and start.
Penn State fans were happy with Drew’s decision to return to the program because he would most likely make it far in the playoffs and gain more experience for the next year, and eventually win a national championship.
This was the thought.
In the middle of the season against Wisconsin, Drew Allar went down in the middle of the game, and Beau got his first real chance to prove himself. He threw for 98 yards, going 11/13 in pass attempts, leading Penn State to a hard-earned victory on the road.
That game gave Beau Pribula confidence and hope for the future of his career. Because of that opportunity, college football got to know his true ability. He was more than just a backup quarterback.
Missouri in 2024 was 9-3 and missed the college football playoff. They had lost the current New York Jets quarterback Brady Cook. They needed someone to carry the torch in his place.
They had scouted Beau and decided that he was the best man to lead the charge in a difficult SEC conference. 1.5 million dollars later, Beau Pribula is now the starter for Missouri football, leaving his state school for greater endeavors.
This year, Beau is producing astonishingly. He has thrown for 1,365 yards and has 11 touchdowns on the year. He is ranked 21st out of all the quarterbacks in college football. In perspective, Drew Allar is 79th.
An interesting development had come up in Beau’s last game against Alabama.
Beating Alabama means so much to Missouri, given that they had been dominated by the Tide for so many years. But this year felt different. A new face at quarterback and hope.
But faith in a quarterback can only take your team so far. Missouri was driving down the field to potentially win the game, and with 37 seconds on the clock, only down by three, Pribula threw an interception to lose the game.
Beau had his worst game of the season, tossing two interceptions.
The worst part of this crushing loss for Missouri was that Beau had a wide-open man on the outside while he threw it into double coverage and sailed the ball.
Beau Pribula has made his name known in college football by having a solid season in 2025. The focus now is if Missouri makes the playoffs or not.
In the case of Beau, I expect that he will have another decision to make by the end of the year.
Penn State just had Drew Allar go out with a season-ending injury, and head coach James Franklin was just fired. Penn State is in a downward spiral right now.
The fans/alumni are desperate and are willing to throw a lot of money at the program since football is a cornerstone of this school. Unless current quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer can show a lot of promise the rest of this season.
Penn State will throw a lot of money around and will most likely aim to get a quarterback in the portal this year. Beau would be the perfect fit since Andy Kotelnicki did not change the offensive scheme that he made for Beau last year.
We certainly miss him a ton, and we would graciously accept his return to State College.
We miss you, Beau.
