Episode 1

With it being over two years since the season one premiere, there has been a lot to look forward to going into season two. The Gen V accounts on social media do a great job of building hype and posting teasers. They make it feel like the viewer is a part of the universe they have created.

The first episode begins back in 1967 in some sort of laboratory. A group of scientists can be seen injecting themselves with Compound V. Dr. Godolkin rushes to the scene in an attempt to stop them, but it is too late, and the scientists all die horrible deaths.

Fast forward to the present day, Emma and Jordan are in orange jumpsuits being put into the back of a vehicle. They are scared and not certain where they are being transported. When the car comes to a stop and the doors open, they are greeted by Cate.

Emma and Jordan are understandably a bit confused and frustrated to see Cate. They tell Cate that, unfortunately, Andre has died and that Marie is missing.

Cut to Marie, who appears to be on the run and searching for her little sister. Marie comes across a group of Starlighters being confronted. She ends up using her powers to deal with the situation and promptly gets recognized.

A new supe, Dogknott, is following Marie’s trail using his extremely good sense of smell. He finds her location, and a fight ensues. Just when things are looking bad for Marie, Starlight busts down the door and saves the day.

Starlight urges Marie to return to Godolkin University. Starlight is suspicious of a project she has heard of called “Odessa” and wants Marie’s help to get to the bottom of it. Marie does not fully buy it and does not want to return to school.

Emma and Jordan find a video of Marie that was posted online and use it to track her location. They weren’t the only ones who tracked her down, however, as Cate also makes an appearance. An argument breaks out, which ends with Jordan blasting Cate into a wall as she bleeds profusely from her head, and the others run away.

Episode 2

Although it seemed Marie had no interest in returning to Godolkin, the episode begins with Emma helping her film a video announcing her return to university.

Cypher, the new dean of God U, meets with Marie in his office, where they discuss her return to school. There is a lot of tension because Cypher was working at Elmira, the facility where Marie was previously locked up. They also discuss the death of Andre, and Cypher gives Marie his medical records, which show that Andre’s death was technically self-inflicted due to a medical condition caused by using his powers.

Sam goes to visit Cate in the hospital, where she appears unconscious but has survived her attack. Cate uses her powers to make one of the nurses shout Emma’s name. This leaves Sam suspicious that Emma was behind the attack.

Polarity, Andre’s father, is at God U, where he has enrolled as a faculty member. He teams up with Emma to do some investigative work together, and they head to the library. They find a concerning secret room there with items such as Nazi memorabilia, but they also find the Odessa file.

Dogknott kills an innocent man and blames him for the attack on Cate. This becomes the narrative that is spread across the news. At the end of the episode, Dean Cypher enters Cate’s hospital room to seek the truth.

Episode 3

Marie, Emma, and Jordan are looking through the file that Emma has found. Shockingly, they find papers about Marie in there. Desperate for answers, Marie sends a text to her “aunt,” hoping to meet up to chat.

Cate is out of the hospital and back on campus. She is instantly bombarded by students, and it is clear that Cate is not fully there and is still suffering some injury from the attack. When she sees Marie, Emma, and Jordan, there is no mention of what happened.

Marie meets with her “aunt,” Pam (who is really just her mom’s friend). While looking through old photos, it is revealed that Dean Cypher is the doctor who delivered Marie. While searching through Pam’s house, Marie discovers that her little sister has been living there, and she becomes very angry when Pam does not tell her where she is.

A barista on campus tells Emma that someone has been putting up controversial posters to torment her and that they somehow reappear as soon as they are taken down. Emma finds out that Harper, a supe who can steal the powers of others, is a Starlighter behind all of this.

Sam is going crazy and is starting to view people and things as puppets again. Enraged by Cate’s attack, he decides to ambush Jordan, who is responsible. Jordan convinces him to calm down, however, and they are able to somewhat talk things out.

Jordan has been ranked number one of all the supes on campus, which is a big deal and comes with a lot of publicity. Jordan is given a prewritten speech to perform at the new Thomas Godolkin Day celebration. Halfway through the speech, Jordan decides to tell the truth and informs the crowd about Andre’s death and that they are the one who attacked Cate, ending the episode.
