Fantasy Football update
At this point in fantasy football, you’re team is either amazing, absolutely horrible or average. There’s not much in between.
Fantasy football has been very interesting and unpredictable this season, but here are some of the biggest storylines four weeks into the season.
Quentin Johnston is the waiver wire of the year
Johnston’s fifth-most yards and third-most touchdowns among receivers in the first four weeks help rank him as a fantasy wide receiver four.
Johnston is ranked higher than Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Zay Flowers and A.J. Brown.
Overtaking impressive second-year Ladd McConkey is something many people didn’t see happening in 2025.
Johnston and the Chargers face a Commanders squad on Sunday that’s averged the sixth-most passing yards allowed through the first four weeks of play.
Johnston has a nice outlook to continue his impressive season in week five.
Kenneth Gainwell: One week wonder?
I usually never use the word “I” or “me” in these articles, but Kenneth Gainwell saved one of my fantasy teams last week.
I added Gainwell as a last resort when running back Tyrone Tracy Jr., of the Giants was ruled out against the Chargers.
Gainwell was projected to sport 11.45 points, but recorded a ridiculous 31.4 points in the Steelers’ 24-21 victory against the Vikings in Dublin, Ireland
The Steelers have a week five bye, but Jaylen Warren is expected to return against the Cleveland Browns in week six, so Gainwell’s usage is expected to decrease.
Puka Nacua MVP
Nakua has been unstoppable in 2025.
With Davante Adams across from Puka Nacua, it forces defenses to shy away from double-covering Nacua.
Although the Rams lost in their Thursday night brawl against the 49ers, Nakua sported 24.5 fantasy points.
Nakua has not scored under 22 points in any game this season (full-ppr points). His chemistry with Matthew Stafford has been almost perfect in 2025.
Nakua has seen 62 targets in five games; only 10 of those targets were incomplete.
The only wide receiver that rivals Nakua for the top spot is the Lions’ receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.
Derrick (Henry) Disappointment
Following one of the most impressive seasons from Derrick Henry, the first quarter of the 2025 season has been lackluster to say the least.
Henry fumbling the ball has been most concerning thing to watch throughout the season. Through the 2024 season, Henry fumbled three times, one of which was a turnover.
Throughout the first four games of the 2025 season, Henry has matched the three total fumbles, but two of them have been turnovers.
There are 3 quarters of the regular season left to play, so more fumbles may lurk in the future.
Henry’s 5.8 yards per carry in 2025 is similar to his 5.9 yards per carry in 2024. His rushing ability is still a threat.
What’s concerning is the volume of carries Henry’s received so far.
Henry has averaged 12.25 carries per game in four games so far this season.
In 2024, Henry averaged 19 carries per game. That’s around 7 carries less per game Henry is receiving.
Due to all of this, Henry’s fantasy performance hasn’t been up to par.
The fantasy app, Sleeper, has Henry ranked as the 22nd best running back in fantasy, as he’s averaging 12.5 points per game.
The Ravens matchup against the Texans, who pose another stout rush defense, as they’re top 12 in rush yards per game allowed.
Derrick Henry may have a tough time against the Texans’ defense, but with Lamar Jackson out with a hamstring injury, Henry might receive a higher volume of carries.
